Happy Homeowners

Yes it is true, George and I are now officially homeowners. We actually signed papers on Sept 15th, got the keys on the 16th and we moved in on the 28th. It has been a couple of weeks of crazy emotions!

It is a 3 bed/1 bath upstairs with a partial basement consisting of a small family room, laundry room and small storage space. It is an older home located in Gooding, that has been well-maintained and is within walking distance to the current hospital where George works. We also have a large yard that is fenced in the back with a deck already built on.

We had been looking to buy for a couple of months since it is almost as cheap to buy as it is to rent a house here. After looking at houses for a couple of weeks we had almost given up because we couldn't find a decent one for what we wanted to pay and then one day we spotted this one. We put an offer in on it and you can figure out the rest.

We closed a week earlier than we expected so we decided to paint a few of the rooms before we moved in. We painted the living room, hallway, Addi's room, and the kitchen. We are still in the process of finishing the kitchen cabinets. Currently you can see all my dishes and food. Oh, I can't wait to get the doors finished. It has been a lot of work and it took a lot longer than we expected. We were at the the house every night for 4-5 hours for a week and half, but it was so worth it. It looks so much better and a lot more modern now.

It is such a good feeling to know our money is actually building us equity now and not being thrown away. We got a great deal and if we didn't have to pay for flood insurance our mortgage payment would almost be the same as what we were paying in rent.

We feel so blessed to have been able to find this home, and to be close to family.
